There is no better place to re-experience the lives of early Americans than Plymouth - America’s Hometown. Founded in 1620, Plymouth is the oldest municipality in New England and one of the oldest in the United States. It is located 40 miles south of Boston.

Just eight miles southwest from Boston is Dedham one of the first towns to be established in Massachusetts. In 1635 Dedham was founded as a way to relieve the cramped conditions of the growing settlements along the Bay. The first board of Selectman was elected in 1639 to carryout town affairs, and in 1643, by unanimous vote Dedham authorized the first U.S. taxpayer-funded public school.Local Destinations Wayland

By Carrie Nash A hidden treasure trove of outdoor family activities, the town of Wayland is a natural wildlife haven in the middle of the suburban metrowest area of Boston.
Originally known as East Sudbury, the town of Wayland was renamed in 1835 presumably after Dr. Francis Wayland who was President of Brown University. Over the years, Wayland has reinvented itself several times from farming community, to bustling mill town during the Industrial Revolution to most recently as a quiet suburban community ideal for commuters.
