It’s March: Does anything pop into your mind?

By Lisa Hanson

March is full of fun holidays including St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) and National Bubble Week (March 7 – 13). Spruce up your home with this super cool pillowcase.

Supplies

Newspaper

Paper plate

Tempera paint

Old pillowcase

Empty paper towel roll

pillowcaseStep1.jpg1.) Cover your workspace with newspaper and lay your pillowcase on top. Squirt small amount of each color paint onto your paper plate.

pillowcaseStep2.jpg2.) To create a shamrock stamp, pinch together one end of the paper towel roll to form a heart-shape. Dip into green paint and press it gently onto the pillowcase to make a shamrock design. Three dipped heart-shapes will make one shamrock. Use your finger to paint on the stem.

3.) To create gold coins, use the other end of your paper towel roll and dip into the yellow paint. Press onto the paper or pillowcase.

4.) To create a rainbow, do the same but make the "bubbles" into the shape of an arch. The order for the rainbow is: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.

Slide the pillowcase over the back of a chair for decoration or hang up your design for all to see!
