Kids Helping Haiti

In the wake of the recent tragedy in Haiti, people from the U.S. have donated money, clothes, food and other necessities. Children from greater Boston are lending a helping hand, too. Here are just a few examples of how generous local kids, from pre-school age to teens, have come together to help Haiti.

·          Killam Elementary School in Reading has organized a monthly “Pick Your Seat Day”, allowing kids who donate 25 cents to sit at whatever table they want with their friends in order to raise money to send overseas.

·          Kids from the Horace Mann Lab School in Salem are encouraging others within their school to donate $1, so that they can raise enough money to send 100 soccer balls to children in Haiti.

·          Students at St. Joseph School of All Saints Parish in Haverill rallied together to not only dedicate a day to wear the color's of the Haitian flag (red and blue), but also raise $480 to donate to relief efforts.

·          South Elementary School in Bellingham will celebrate the 100th day of school by helping others. Each grade is aiming to earn $100 to donate to Haiti.

• Children from all Boxford, Middleton and Topsfield elementary schools will participate in a tri-town campaign called “Hearts to Haiti” in which kids and other community members will raise funds for those in need.
