Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

My family wanted to drop you a note and let you we thought you did a great job on the article about Great Moves and our daughter Emily! (Needham Girl Has Recipe for Success, July 2008) Emily is doing well with the program, and we really do hope your article, and the program help other families!

Again, congrats on a great article, and thanks!

We are so delighted at the response of Parents and Kids magazine readers and staff to the BIG BUGS exhibit at New England Wild Flower Society’s Garden in the Woods (Nurturing a Love of Nature, July 2008). We’ve noticed that many have heard about BIG BUGS through your publications, and that the parents who bring their children to experience the native plants and enormous bugs at our outdoor venue are ones who are dedicated to preparing their children to love and respect nature and our native plant heritage. These parents are committed to connecting their children to a much larger community—including other people, the world of plants, insects, and all of life. We applaud P&K for reaching out to influence this next generation in such positive ways.  Thanks for supporting the plant conservation mission of America’s oldest plant conservation group, and we hope you will all come and enjoy BIG BUGS, our live animal shows, and the entire web of life here at Garden in the Woods.
